Friday, April 16                    

 8:15am            Arrive at Pearce. Check in with your chaperone in the orchestra room.

9:00am            KROO members load luggage and instruments on the busses.

9:15am            Board the bus and depart Pearce High School for Houston; lunch stop en route.

2:50pm            Arrive at Pearland Junior High School; change into formal attire

3:20pm            Phil/Concert Warm-up (Chamber in Auditorium)

3:50pm            Phil/Concert Performance

4:40pm            Chamber Warm-up; (Phil/Concert in Auditorium)

5:10pm            Chamber Performance

6:00pm            Depart for Hotel

6:30pm            Arrive at hotel and check-in; KROO unloads luggage/instruments. Report any issues with your room to your chaperone.

7:30pm            Load bus and depart for dinner (Location TBA)

9:00pm            Free time at the hotel

10:30pm          Room Check. No room departures after this point without permission.

Saturday, April 17 

7:30am            Wake-up Call/Get ready for Space Center and Dynamo Game

8:00am            Breakfast in the hotel (provided)

9:00am            Board bus/Depart for Space Center

10:00am          Arrive at Space Center Houston; Lunch at Space Center

1:30pm            Board bus and depart for stadium

2:15pm            Arrive at Robertson Stadium

3:00pm            Major League Soccer (MLS) Game: Houston Dynamo (Orange/White) vs. Chivas USA (Red, White & Blue)

5:15pm            Board bus and depart for hotel

5:45pm            Arrive at Marriott

6:45pm            Load bus and depart for dinner (Location TBA)

9:00pm            Free time at the hotel

10:30pm          Room Check. No room departures after this point without permission. 

Saturday Destinations:

Space Center Houston—1601 NASA Parkway, Houston, TX 77058

MLS Game—3700 Cullen Boulevard, Houston, TX 77004

 

Sunday, April 18 

7:30am            Wake-up Call/Get ready for water park and beach; pack extra clothes to change into—you will not be allowed to load the bus wet.

8:00am            Breakfast in the hotel (provided)

9:00am            Board bus and depart for Schlitterbahn.

10:00am          Arrive at Schlitterbahn Galveston Island Waterpark; lunch at water park

2:30pm            Board bus and depart for beach

3:00pm            Arrive at Stewart Beach

5:00pm            Board bus and depart for hotel

6:00pm            Arrive at hotel

7:00pm            Dinner and Senior Plate Awards (location TBA)

9:00pm            Free time at the hotel

10:30pm          Room check. No room departures after this point without permission.

                        Pack and clean up for tomorrow’s departure.

Monday, April 19

7:30am            Wake-up Call/Get ready for departure and mall trip; Wear orchestra shirts

8:00am            Breakfast in the hotel (provided)

9:00am            Students check out; Chaperones inspect all rooms. KROO members load luggage and instruments on the bus.

9:30am            Board bus and depart for mall.

10:00am          Arrive at Galleria Houston Mall; group picture and lunch at the mall.

12:30pm          Board bus and depart for home.

5:00pm            Arrive at Pearce High School. Be sure to help unload and put up instruments before you go home.

Spring Trip Packing List and Other Information

Required Items

đ       Instrument and music

đ       Formal Attire in a garment bag

o   Men—black tux jacket and pants, black dress shoes and socks, cummerbund, bow tie, tux shirt

o   Women—black dress and dress shoes or solid black outfit and dress shoes for cellists/bassists

đ       Orchestra Shirt (we will wear this as a group to the Galleria)

đ       Four-five (4-5) changes of casual warm-weather clothes plus a light jacket/pants in case of cool weather

đ       Underclothes and Night clothes

đ       Personal toiletries—toothbrush/paste, soap and shampoo, deodorant, etc.

đ       Lunch and Dinner Money--$35-50 (it is recommended that students budget $5-10 per meal)

đ       Prescription Medications—must be in a sealed plastic bag with your name and dosage instructions. This will be turned over to your chaperone at check-in on the first day.

đ       Sunblock, SPF 15 or more

đ       Swimwear, beach towel, and beach clothes (wraps, flip flops, etc.)

 

STRONGLY Suggested Items

đ       Cell phone and cell phone charger

đ       Plastic bag for wet clothes/towels

đ       Homework/Reading material

đ       IPOD or other music player (headphones required)

đ       DVD’s for the bus (to be approved by director)

đ       Non-perishable food for snacks and meals

đ       Pillow/blanket for the bus ride

đ       Camera

đ       Money for souvenirs and shopping (Optional)

 

Prohibited Items

đ       Skateboards

đ       Electric instruments (acoustic guitars are permitted)

đ       Body boards for the beach

đ       Inappropriate clothing—while we will not require students to follow the dress code “to the letter” students that wear offensive or highly inappropriate clothing may be asked to change.

đ       Anything else that directors deem unacceptable
